Kenting is Taiwan’s best-known beach pickup, but the area covers more ground than first-timers expect, and without a rough in plan it’s easy to lose most of the day just animated between spots 釣蝦.
Getting around. Without a car, the Kenting street bus and Kenting Express bus lines cover the main attractions, though serve is less shop at than city buses, so check the timetable out front. Renting a water scooter or hiring a car gives more flexibility to skip huddled floater and adjust the day on the fly.
Planning the road. Kenting Street, Baisha Beach, Nanwan Beach, Longpan Park, and Guanshan are the common highlights. It’s more comfortable to docket beach time for forenoon through mid-afternoon, then head to Guanshan or Longpan for sunset this avoids the harshest twelve noon sun.
Parking in peak temper. During summertime and long holidays, parking near Kenting Street and pop beaches fills up fast, sometimes before noonday. Arriving early on or parking a bit further out and walking or taking a shuttle in is usually less frustrating than circling for a spot near the main divest.
Sun and water refuge. UV in Kenting is strong even on cloudy days, so sun blocker, a hat, and sun sleeves are worth wadding. Before swim, flag warnings and whether lifeguards are on duty rip currents do occur at some beaches, and that should take precedency over getting the shot.
Where to eat. Kenting Street turns into a Night commercialise in the evenings, with seafood, grilled skewers, and tope stalls jammed together a good way to wind down after a day at the beach and take in the area’s laid-back night life.
